Description

Neuralgin is a special preparation of vitamin B1, B6 & B12. The vitamins B1, B6 & B12 are essential for a normal course of the nervous metabolism. The efficacy of the combined vitamin B1, B6 & B12 contained in Neuralgin tablet & injection is superior to that of the individual vitamins alone. The effect of Neuralgin in diseases of the nervous system involves compensation of accompanying vitamin-B deficiencies and stimulation of natural healing processes in the nervous tissue.

Tablet: Each film coated tablet contains Thiamine Mononitrate USP 100 mg, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 200 mg, Cyanocobalamin BP 200 mcg. Injection: Each ampoule contains Thiamine Hydrochloride BP 100 mg, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 100 mg, Cyanocobalamin BP 1 mg.

Neuralgin is indicated for the treatment of vitamin B1, B6, & B12 deficiency syndrome. It is also indicated for the supportive treatment of neuritis & non-inflammatory diseases of the nerves, eg.Diabetic neuropathy, Peripheral neuralgia, Lumbago, Myalgia, Optic neuritis, Sciatica, Facial neuralgia, Intercostal neuralgia, Spinal pain.

Tablet: 1-3 Tablets per day or as advised by the physician. Injection: In severe (acute) cases- 1 injection IM daily until the acute symptoms subside or taken as advised bythe physician. In mild cases -1 injection IM 2-3 times per week. Ampoules are preferably injected intramuscularly.

Generally well tolerated. However, a few allergic reactions may be seen.

Cyanocobalamin should not be given before a diagnosis has been fully established because the possibility of masking symptoms of sub acute degeneration of the spinal cord.

Oral tablet form is recommended but due to presence of benzyl alcohol, injection is not recommended during pregnancy & lactation.

No such drug interactions have been reported so far.

No overdosage symptoms are to be expected in the recommended dosage. If there is known overdose then treatment is symptomatic & supportive.

Should not be used in the patients on Levodopa therapy and hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients.

Tablet: Each box contains 6 blister strips of 10 tablets. Injection: Each box contains 10 ampoules of 3 ml each.
