Description

Sinamox is a preparation Amoxycillin. It is abroad spectrum bactericidal semisynthetic antibiotic which is effective against various infections caused by both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Sinamox 500 Capsule: Each Capsule contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate BP, equivalent to 500 mg Amoxycillin. Sinamox 250 Capsule: Each Capsule contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate BP, equivalent to 250 mg Amoxycillin. Sinamox Suspension: After reconstitution, each 5 ml suspension contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate BP, equivalent to 125 mg Amoxycillin. Sinamox Paediatric Drops: After reconstitution each 1.25 ml drop contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate BP, equivalent to 125 mg Amoxycillin. Sinamox DS Suspension: After reconstitution, each 5 ml suspension contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate BP, equivalent to 250 mg Amoxycillin.

Sinamox is indicated for the treatment of following infections - Respiratory tract infection: Sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, acute and chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. Genito-urinary tract infection: Nephritis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, gonorrhoea & gynecological infections. Biliary G.I. tract infection: Salmonellosis including carrier stage, cholecystitis, peritonitis & enteric fever. Skin & soft tissue infection: Cellulitis, carbuncle, furunculosis & infected wounds. Others: Sinamox is also indicated for the treatment of otitis media, septicemia, bacteraemia, meningitis, osteomyelitis & bacterial endocarditis etc.

Sinamox should be taken one hour before meal. Adult usual dose: 250 mg, 500 mg every 8 hours. Severe or recurrent purulent respiratory tract infection: 3 gm every 12 hours. Dental abscess: 3 gm repeated after 8 hours. Gonorrhoea: Single dose of 2-3 gm with Probenecid 1 gm. Endocarditis prophylaxis: 3 gm about 1 hour before procedures, such as: dental extraction. Children usual dose: Children (Up to 10 years of age) 125 mg every 8 hours, doubled in severe infection. Children (Under 20 kg body weight) a dose of 20 to 40 mg per kg has been suggested. Children aged 3 to 10 years with Otitis media may be given 750 mg twice daily for 2 days.

Vomiting, diarrhoea, skin rash may occur. Pseudomonas & Candida may cause superinfection.

Amoxycillin is contraindicated for the patients who are hypersensitive to Penicillin.

Sinamox 250 Capsule: Box contains 50 (10x5's) capsules in blister strip. Sinamox 500 Capsule: Box contains 100 (10x10's) capsules in alu-alu blister pack. Sinamox Suspension: Bottle contains dry powder for 100 ml oral Suspension. Sinamox Paediatric Drops: Bottle contains dry powder for 15 ml oral Suspension. Sinamox DS Suspension: Bottle contains dry powder for 100 ml oral Suspension.
