Description
Visceral (Tiemonium methylsulphate) is a synthetic anticholinergic-antispasmodic drug. Tiemonium methylsulphate is a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent with peripheral effect similar to those of atropine. Tiemonium methylsulphate strengthens calcium bonding with phospholipids and proteins thus stabilizing the cell membrane of the GI tract.
Composition
Visceral tablet: Each film-coated tablet contains Tiemonium methylsulphate 50 mg INN. Visceral IV/IM Injection: Each 2ml contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate 5mg INN.
Indications And Uses
Visceral is an antispasmodic drug. It reduces muscle spasms of the intestine, biliary system, urinary bladder & uterus. Visceral is indicated for the pain in gastrointestinal, biliary, urinary and gynaecological diseases such as gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, cholecystitis, colonopathies, mild cystitis & spasmodic dysmenorrhoea.
Dosage And Administration
Tablet: The usual dosages of Visceral (Tiemonium methylsulphate) 2 to 6 tablets (100-300 mg) daily in divided doses as required. Injection: 1 ampoule by slow IV/IM injection 3 times daily.
Side Effect
Tiemonium methylsulphate may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like risk of hypotension and tachycardia especially in case of injection.
Use In Pregnancy Lactation
Avoid taking this drug without medical advice during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Storage
Keep in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
Contraindications
Tiemonium methylsulphate should not be used in glaucoma (acute pain of eyeball with vision disturbance). Also this drug should not be used in patients with the difficulties in urinating (disorders of the prostate or urinary bladder).

Visceral Tablet: Each box contains 30 (3x10's) tablets in blister pack. Visceral IV/IM Injection: Each box contains 10 (2x5’s) ampoules of 2ml.
