Aceril is a preparation of Ramipril BP. It is available as 2.5 mg and 5 mg tablet. Ramipril inhibits ACE in human subjects and animals. Inhibition of ACE results in decreased plasma angiotensin II, which leads to decreased vasopressor activity and to decreased aldosterone secretion. The effect of Ramipril on hypertension appears to result at least in part from inhibition of both tissue and circulating ACE activity, thereby reducing angiotensin II formation in tissue and plasma. While the mechanism through which Ramipril lowers blood pressure is believed to be primarily suppression of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, Ramipril has an antihypertensive effect even in patients with low-renin hypertension. Ramipril is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. It may be used alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics.
It is a fixed dose combination containing Clopidogrel and Aspirin. Clopidogrel is an inhibitor of platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel selectively inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its platelet receptor and the subsequent ADP Mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPllblllla complex, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. Aspirin is also an antiplatelet agent. It acts by causing irreversible inhibition of the cyclo-oxygenase enzyme.
Cardil (Diltiazem) is a calcium-channel blocker with peripheral and coronary vasodilator properties. It lowers blood pressure and has some effect on cardiac conduction. Cardil interferes with the influx of calcium ions through the channels of active cell membranes. Cardil is used for the prophylaxis and treatment of chronic stable (classical) and vasopastic angina pectoris and has also been used alone or in combination in the management of hypertension, also, Cardil is effective in myocardial infarction, coronary artery spasm, arrhythmias, Raynaud's phenomenon, oesophageal motility disorder and migraine. It is available as 30 mg Tablet.
Colostat is a preparation of Atorvastatin calcium. It is a synthetic lipid lowering agent, indicated in primary hypercholesterolaemia (familial or non-familial) or combined hyperlipidaemia. It is available as 10mg tablet.
Diplor is a preparation of Amlodipine. It is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker which is used Hypertension, Chronic stable angina, Vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or Variant angina). It is available as Diplor-5mg and 10 mg tablet.
Amlodipine BP as Amlodipine Besylate + Atenolol BP
Diplor Plus is a fixed-dose combination of Amlodipine BP & Atenolol BP, used for Hypertension not controlled by monotherapy, hypertension and angina pectoris as co-existing disease, in post MI patients, refractory angina pectoris where nitrate therapy has failed. It is available as 25 mg and 50 mg tablet.
Fruson is a combination drug containing a short-acting loop diuretic, Frusemide and a long-acting aldosterone antagonist, potassium-sparing diuretic Spironolactone. Indicated for Essential hypertension
Congestive cardiac failure. Available as tablets.
Losium is the preparation of Losartan Potassium. It is indicated for the treatment of all grades of hypertension and congestive heart failure. It may be used alone or in combination with other hypertensive agents. It is an effective alternative for patients who have to discontinue an ACE inhibitor because of persistent dry cough. Each Losium 25 mg box contains 30 (3x10's) Tablets in Blister Pack. Each Losium 50 mg box contains 30 (3x10's) Tablets in Blister Pack.
Losium Plus is a preparation of Losartan potassium & Hydrochlorothiazide. It is indicated for initial therapy of hypertension, except when the hypertension is severe enough that the value of achieving prompt blood pressure control exceeds the risk of initiating combination therapy in these patients. Losium Plus is available as Losartan 50mg with Hydroclorothiazide 12.5mg.
Amlodipine as Amlodipine Besilate BP + Olmesartan Medoximil BP
Olmedip is a combination product of Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB), with Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB).
Amlodipine, a Calcium channel blocker decrease the entry of calcium ions into cells by blocking L-type calcium channels, leading to relaxation of arterial smooth muscle, peripheral vasodilation, and lowered BP.
Olmesartan Medoxomil is a prodrug that undergoes ester hydrolysis in the GI tract to form its active metabolite Olmesartan. Olmesartan, an Angiotensin receptor blockers act by selectively binding to the AT1 receptor, blocking the effects of angiotensin II, and therefore suppressing vasoconstriction and other adverse CV effects of angiotensin II.
It is available as 5/20 and 5/40 mg tablet.
Rosuvastatin is an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. Rosuvastatin is indicated for- primary hypercholesterolaemia (type IIa including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia), mixed dyslipidaemia (type IIb), or homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia in patients who have not responded adequately to diet and other appropriate measures. Dose: Initially, 5-10 mg once daily, increased if necessary at intervals of at least 4 weeks to 20 mg once daily. It is available as 5 mg Tablet and 10 mg Tablet.
